Chevrolet "Camaro"

Today I'm writing about a historical outline of
"Chevrolet Camaro", a GM's bland car.
In fact, we know this car very well, especially as a yellow car.


Why?


It is because  many of us watched this car on one movie.
The Movie is "Transformers".
Bumblebee, a metal living organism, is usually this car's form.






And in particular, I watched its toy model many times.
About one year ago, I draw it by Design Stroke Method.
So, for me, he is profoundly memorable.

Well, let's get down to business.
Camaro has gone through 4 times model changes.
So the current Camaro is fifth model.

Camaro was created as a "Mustang Killer" in 1966.
(Mustang is a Ford's sports car, 1962)
As a matter of fact, the car's project was put forward a suggestion in 1961. Bill Mitchell, American  automobile designer, wanted to create a compact sports car which was a little larger than European sports car.
This project's prototype model was called "XP-836"  
But the brains of GM rejected it.
After that, Mustang was sold explosively.
They made a grave mistake.

They called the development team in a hurry, and created him.
From then, an ideology of him is inexpensive offer suited for individual taste, in spite of mass production.


As from today's blog, I'll write about each model.

BLACK SWAN

Today I watched one movie called "Black Swan".



Natalie Portman, the leading lady of this movie,
got a prize of Academy Award for Best Actress,
Godlen Globe Award for Best Actress, and so on.


When I finished watching this movie,
I wasn't moved.
Instead, I felt it so weird.

That is why I don't so recommend you to watch it.


However I learned one thing from this movie.


"What obstructs your way is yourself."


And


"Whether you can get over it or not is up to you."


This is applicable to my daily life.

I should be severe with myself.

As for it, I can recommend you.


And one thing.

You can know the outline of Ballet "Swan Lake". :P

カラオケの洋楽表記

『歌詞、全部大文字で歌いづらい。。。』

カラオケに行って洋楽を歌うとき、いつも思うことです。
なぜ、どこのカラオケメーカーもアルファベット表記は
全て大文字にするのだろう。

バカ丸出しです。

一般に、テキストの見やすさに対する指針は以下の5つと言われます。


『サイズ』
『書体』
『コントラスト』
『文章表示』
『行間隔』



文章が全て大文字かどうかは、この中の「書体」の項目に入ります。全て大文字のテキストは『アッパー・ケース』といい、文頭のみ大文字のテキストは『センテンス・ケース』といいます。

カラオケでなぜアッパー・ケースが用いられているかはわかりませんが、(どなたか知っている人がいたら教えてください)
あれが読みにくい理由としては


・普段、自分たちがセンテンス・ケースに慣れ親しんでいる、
 そのカタチで単語を認識しているから

・各文字ののカタチがほぼ同じ四角のサイズに収まり、
 文字一つ一つの差異性が消えることで、そもそも認識しづらいから


であると考えます。

理由はどうあれ、しばらく洋楽を歌う場合は歌詞丸ごと記憶してからにしろってことですねw


ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
以下、先ほどの5つの簡単な説明です。
・サイズ
  −印刷テキストなら9〜12ポイントが妥当。
  −解像度の低いディスプレイや高齢者に対してはより大きいサイズを。


・書体
  −セリフ書体(文字の端にひげ飾りが付く書体)とサンセリフ書体
  (ひげつかない書体)の二つで見やすさに差はない。
  −文章表示にはセンテンス・ケースを使用。
  −12ポイントより大きく、解像度が低いディスプレイの場合は、
    アンチエイリアス処理を施すことで文字が滑らかになり見やすくなる。

・コントラスト
  −背景とテキストは明暗の差を大きくする。その差が70%以上あると、
    色の組み合わせは通常見やすさに影響しない。
  −ただし、コントラストの高い配色で暗い背景に明るい文字を使う場合は
    文字がにじんで見えるので注意。
  −背景に模様やテクスチャーを入れる場合は注意が必要。
  −全景背景の配色は見やすさ以外に、
    色覚異常や疲労などの考慮すべき要素がある。

・文章表示
  −各行の左端は揃える。両端を揃えなくても見やすさには影響しない。
  −9から12ポイントの場合、行の長さは8〜13センチが推奨される。
    英文でいうと10〜12語(35〜55文字)。
  −ただし、テキストラインは長い方が視覚的処理は速くなる。

・行間隔
  −9から12ポイントの場合、
    行間隔(ベースライン間隔)は活字サイズよりい1〜4ポイント大きくする。
  −文字どうしの間隔は、一定よりも比例配分する方が見やすくなる。

Japanese Laputa

If you don’t know the building,  you are NOT Japanese.
And many tourists visiting Japan know it.



Needless to say, this is Kiyomizu Temple (清水寺) .
The building looks like Laputa(Castle in the sky),

don’t you?

This temple was firstly built in 778.
It was sometimes burned out and rebuilt in 1633
by third tycoon “Yoshimitsu Tokugawa (徳川義光)”.
From then, it continues to this day to be retained.

It is built at steep slope of Higashiyama(東山)
and the building method is called Kakezukuri(懸造り).
This makes the building look like Laputa.

The posts and joists are regid-jointed with each other
by wedge, and consist of large framework like bent.

To be surprised, it is used “No nail” and be supported
by only 139 posts.

Stationmaster Tama(たま駅長)

The other day, I went to Kishi station of Wakayama Dentetu.






In this station, one cat is working as a stationmaster.



Her name is "Tama".
Her main task is attracting guests.
Her payment is yearly cat food.

At the beginning of this month(2010.8.4), 
rebuilding of this station was completed.
The whole image has changed so smart.



But I feel
the previous station is more agreeable than the new one.The previous station was typical Japanese country station,
so it's a pitty that the old syle station was disappeared. 





By the way,
it is said that Tama's economic ripple effect is no fewer than

1.1 billion yen for 1 year.

There were so many visitors in the station and
they waited for taking her pictures.



She was in the room separated from guests by glass walls.



She looked so exhausted as she is 11 years old.
She is so elder.

I think it's no problem with visiting this station,
but how many people visiting here can imagine more than

300,000 cats and dogs are killed

in Japanese public health centers for 1 year.

If you cannot imagine realistically,
I recommend you to watch the feature segment.
I felt it's exactly like a holocaust in concentration camp.

I want you to think those who throw away pet animals
are overwhelmingly "CRIMINAL".
