Bugatti Veyron (ブガッティヴェイロン) [About His Speed]

At former article's, I wrote about Veyron's engine.
And last of all, I write about his speed.

His maximum speed is surprisingly 431.07 km/h.

But when you merely push the accelerator,
the speed doesn't become top speed.

You must push a speed key "Second Ignition" to unlock limiter of 375 km/h.
The purpose is to change the setting into high speed mode.

The minimum ground clearance is changed to 60mm
(Usually you can change to120, 80, and 60mm).
And an angle of his rear wing to the horizontal is modified into 2 degrees.
If not so, his speed really doesn't become max.

In this setting, the time of 0-300 km/h is only 16.7s.
(In addition, 0-100 km/h is 2.6s.)

At the peed greater than that, barrier of the air interferes with him,
so till 0-400km/h, it costs him 11.5 km of straight distance.
And a stopping distance is 500 m.

In addition,
his transmission is 7-speed DSG sequential, 2 pedal, no clutch.
So a driver with the Japanese license of AT can also drive by the car.

Bugatti Veyron (ブガッティヴェイロン) [About His Engine]

I wrote about Bugatti Veyron's design at former article.
This article is about his engine.

His engine is W16 quad-turbocharged.

It is the combination of two W8 engines + 4 turbochargers.
Amount of heat generated by the engine is more than imagination,
there is no engine food.

It is used 50 liters of cooling water and 23 liters of engine oil.
His fuel cost is 0.8 km/L and fuel tank of 100 L is run out in 12 minutes.

To translate the strong engine power to pavement,
4WD style is essential.
If it is 2WD, the body will spin.

His tire is also so important, therefore they are specially manufactured by Michelin. (It's reported that price of the 4 tires, PAX run-flat tyres is
25 thousand US dollars.)

Bugatti Veyron (ブガッティヴェイロン) [About His Design]

In the former article, I wrote about outline of "Veyron"
So today, I write about his design in detail.

He was directly designed by Volkswargen Design Center.
(The chief designer is Jozef Kaban.)

His line of the body side,
accent line of the center of the bonnet,

and horseshoe grill located at the front nose
are same as successive models of Bugatti.

His color is two-tone coloring (It's Bugatti's traditional specialty.)
and you can select the combination.

His Interior is no plastic.
Leather, suede, aluminum, and other expensive materials are used.

The shape of his steering and the pattern of center console
are classic and distinctive.

His rear end has a tilting spoiler as to his speed.
It is two staged and go up to 20 cm.
The upper stage also fulfills a function of an aerobraking.

Bugatti Veyron (ブガッティヴェイロン)

At first, His concept model"EB18/3 Chiron" was designed by
"Italdesign Giugiaro", Giorgetto Giugiaro's design company,
and came out at Frankfurt Motor Show 1999.
After that, Volkswargen (Bugatti's parent company) uniquely retouched
him and exhibited his prototype model at Tokyo Motor Show 1999.
Finally, He was gave out at Tokyo Motor Show 2005.

His name was titled by "Pierre Veyron", Bugatti's first racing driver &
engineer, who got first prize of "24 Hours of Le Mans" in 1939.

His manufacturer "Bugatti" was former prosperous French luxury car maker,
In 1991 The maker made a fresh start by sales of "EB110" as Italian maker ,
but quickly corrupted in 1997.
After that, the maker transferred to Volkswagen group and restarted in 1999.
and came back as French maker again.

And next, his maximum speed 407km/h was fastest among commercial
available car in 2005.
But the he was deprived of the position by "Ultimate Aero TT
(manufactuered by SSC)" in 2007.

For all that, he regained it as a average speed 431.07km/h
and became the fastest car in the world.

Particularly, his original price was so surprising.

163 million Yen.
(It includes cost of transportation and 3 years charge free maintenance.)

The price was changed 4 times, and now it became 193 million yen.
And the sales volume is a limit of 300.

In Japan, when you buy him, you must apply through Nicol Racing Japan Co.
For the car's and Bugatti's image branding, you are judged as a person
who is suited for the owner by Bugatti Co (No screening of your income).

Lamborghini Reventon (ランボルギーニレヴェントン)

He was born at 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Surprisingly, His Price is 1 million Euros (１億6000万円)
and he is limited edition, so only 20 cars were manufactured.
But all of them were contracted before the show.

He was named "Leveinton" after one legendary fighting bull fought with a Spanish famous matador "Felix Guzman"
and took his life.

Almost all his mechanical elements are based on "Murcielago LP640". However, his styling is fully different.
It was inspired by latest jet-fighter plane such as ""F22 Rapter"
and mainly consisted of straight edgy lines.

He was designed by 6 persons team.

Not only exterior, his interior is also designed to look like a jet-fighter. He has three TFT LCD and display G-force at acceleration and cornering,
a inside embroidery is drown in military script,
and a driver surely feels as if he is in cockpit.

Furthermore He fight with "Tornado" jet-fighter at 3km runway of a military airfield in Brescia, north of Italy.

He almost took a lead but at last some meters, he was distanced.

It's so surprising to compete for fighter plane.

Lamborghini Gallardo (ランボルギーニガヤルド)

He was born in 2003.
He is a "Baby Lamborghini" that is15years absence after "JaLpa" , that was out of production in 1988 .

"Gallardo" was named after Franchesco Gallardo who was a famous bull breeder in 19th century.

His engine, V10 generates 500PS and 4WD system steadily translate the power to the pavement. Furthermore, the car's frame is light Alminium.
So the performance is rival that of flagship "Murcielago" in spite of baby Lamborghini.

The form has some kind of connection with "Murcielago", and his tail lamp and several parts resemble to that of "Lamborghini Countach".

His door is side-open style, not gull-wing door, in order to make a difference from flag ship.

In 2004, Lamborghini donate "Gallardo" to Italian police as a patrol car.
The "Gallardo Polizia" has a white stripe line in blue body.
It is same as Italian police's uniform.

The first car was assigned to the suburb of Roma.
The second car was assigned to Bologna, has Lamborghini's headquarters.
And third car switched with the first car,
but at November 29th 2009, on the way back from one event,
the driver attempted to avoid a car which suddenly lewd out from gasoline stand and the front was wrecked,
The car became complete loss.

The car became the most sold car of all time for Lamborghini, 7100 cars in five years from his debt.

Lamborghini Murcielago (ランボルギーニ・ムルシエラゴ)

He is a new car for Lamborghini after 12 years absence and
the first car after Lamborghini was aquired by AUDI .

"Murcielago" means a "Bat" in Spanish and
the name was the legendary bull waged a good battle with one matador in 1879.
Naming Lamborghini's car after a legendary bull is their tradition.

As a matter of fact, This car is the result of the change of
first project started in the early 1990's.

Lamborghini continued the project and
was going to bring out the car in 1999.
Then, His name was not "Murcielago", but "Kant".
At such times, in1998 Lamborghini was aquired by AUDI.

AUDI had a willing to respect Lamborghini's plan,
but AUDI's parent company, Volkswagen ordered to stop Kant's project.
As a result, the project's car was designed by AUDI Design Center and became Murcielago.

Instead, the manufacturing quality became higher than that of former Lamborghini by the AUDI's proper quality control.
Lamborghini was born again.
It's a little irony story.

By the way, he was often appeared on a little previous screens.
At "BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT".

He was rode by the hero, Blues Wein.
In the daytime he rides on Murcielago, and at night he rides on Batmobile.

Additonaly, he already rode on him at "BATMAN BEGINS"
(On the movie, Ken Watanabe, a Japanese famous actor, also appeared.)

Furthermore on "Transporter 2", he waged a bold car chase at the climax scene.

In 2005, 5 years after his introduction, he was tweaked and became Murcielago LP640.
His maximum power incleased 60 PS, became 640 PS.
But in 2010, 5 years after, he was the end of life as the architectonics became out of date and limit for his ability.

Wiesmann GT MF5

Viesmann is a minor sports car maker in Germany.
The compony was founded in 1985, so the history is short.

the policy is influenced by Enzo Ferrari very much.
That is,
A car isn't only a tool which is consumed, but one and only existence that meets the needs of every owner.

So each car is made by hand.

Their style is classic,
nevertheless, their cars are on the cutting edge of sports car, so powerful.

Wiesmann logo portrays a gecko, as Wiesmann car "stick to the road like geckos to a wall".

In addition their factory in Dulmen is shape of geckos.

Wiesmann's car is consisted of elaborate chassis hand made aluminum-monocoque structure.

GT MF5 is small two-seater roadster, but with more power than any other Viesmann's models.

HONDA NSX

NSX means New Sports car X(=infinity) .

I think this car is the greatest car in cars HONDA has made.
His Development started 1984 (then, I wasn't born)
and the prototype was come through in 1989.
That is, he is the product of bubble economy.
Honda of the time was first among F1 race team and
their latest technology was put into him.

His body, wishbone type suspension,
DOHC・V6 engine, is all aluminum (Whole Monocoque Body),
and has latest VTEC system.

So he has manufactured by hands, not industrial robots.

This car firstly entered the stage as a reference car at Tokyo Motor Show in 1965.

His engine was developed as a result of TOYOTA & YAMAHA Motor's technical cooperation.

Max Cruising Speed: 205km/h

He was designed by Satoru Nozaki(野崎喩),Toyota's industrial designer.

Meter Panel was produced by YAMAHA Co(Music instrument).

It is like beautiful furniture.

And white color becomes him very much.

The price was 2.38 million yen at that time, if you had the price you can buy Crown,TOYOTA's luxury automobile, or COROLLA, TOYOTA's popular car.

The sell period was short, about 3 years, and total production is only 337 cars.

In addition, he became a bond car and only 2 cars were made.

And Now Toshiaki Karasawa, Japanese famous actor, owns him : )
